Have you made your New Year’s resolutions? How many have you given up on so far? We’ve made a few ourselves and there is one we would like to tell you about. But first, let me tell you about the norm in our humble, Midwestern market.

Most commercial jobs have a lot of ambiguity when it comes to the finishes. They say things like “Top line commercial products”. While each paint supplier has a product they would identify as the top of the commercial line, there are quite a few contractors around Indianapolis that would interpret that as the next product or two down the line. I know this because our company routinely repaints commercial spaces and the attic stock is quite often Sherwin Williams ProMar 400 instead of their top line ProMar 200. We used to take pride in our use of ProMar 200. I don’t think we’ve ever bought more than a few gallons of ProMar 400 in our 14 years of business! (ProMar 400 Flat is useful when you want a dead flat sheen.)

We’ve decided to up the game and commit to using Sherwin Williams SuperPaint on walls and Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel for the trim and doors on most of our jobs. Why? Because it is better and we believe that your business deserves better. Of coarse this will add to the price of our jobs, but we think you will be happy to pay a few dollars more to get a paint that will look better, clean up easier and offer a longer service life. To us, it just makes good business sense.
